A Closet Story: Each cloth has a story behind it!!!

I like how certain things in your wardrobe have a distinct memory attached to it.  Have you ever tried to rummage through your closet and found something that has a special memory attached to it, might be of success or disaster, emotional or thoughtful, a gift or just one out of your collection.

This is how a typical closet looks like:

There are some items of clothing which you must have bought long back and have never worn, but you still keep it.

Some clothes have a rich personal history and you keep it to be passed on to next generation and so on.

A bag which does not represents your style statement now but that was your first bag ever.

A Scarf gifted by your first boyfriend, whom you have lost touch with but still wonder looking at it sometimes ,where he must be now?

Your Wedding Dress, which you must have dreamed of ever since you were a little girl and have spend the most on and it is a dress that made you feel the best, you ever felt.

An expensive designer outfit, which you wore for your first anniversary but had a fight with your husband, and you have never worn it again to avoid such disasters.

A Saree gifted by your mother in Law on your first meeting with her, which you never liked and is wrapped in a plastic bag, collecting dust in your attic.

A silk dress, which was your first purchase from your own salary.

Your mom’s old Saree /Jewellery which you wanted to try a hands on, ever since you were a little girl.

A white shirt which you wore for your first Concert,

A jacket that you picked up while travelling, that you always keep with you along with memories of that journey and adventures you’ve had together.

A hanker chief gifted by a long lost school friend.

Over sized /Under sized Lingerie hidden in those darkest corners of your closet.

And I'm sure that prom dress trapped in a box has a good a story behind it…

Your first day of college and your blue jeans…..couldn’t be a better reason than this to have a place in your closet.

Pre Maternity clothes which you desperately want to fit into and firmly believe that someday you will make itJ

There are memories, good or bad with each cloth in that hanger, plastic bag, closed boxes lying in your closet…but we aren’t prepared to throw them out because we are emotionally connected with them and use them to memorialize those events.

A  peek into five items in my closet which have a space in my closet but have never been used…My Closet Skeletons J
