What's in your HAndbag?

Different Shapes with variety of prints,Stripes and polkas for summer,Bold statement colour for winters, With flowers &cute bows for bridesmaid ,Silk, pearl, velvet with detailed embroidery for the bride to be.Jholas, satchel and backpacks in funky colours and messages for the college teens, Metalstuds, chain shoulder, clutches straps, animal prints,of bronze, coppers and gold for the Perfect date/evening.

Facts,Do's and Dont's :
Bags are for every occassion, every season and for any damn reason ......its a necessity for most, style statement for some, great accessory for few and luxury for rest.

A handbag is a great investment  and must have accessory for adding life and colour to any dull/boring/repetitive outfit.

As per some school of thoughts ,a handbag must always match your footwear. But with evolving time and fashion  trends ,people do believe in creating their style through mix and match..However for Formal occassions it would be wiser to match the two.

A handbag defines your personality as Classy,Sophisticated,Casual ,Elegant or a little bolder, wild or conservative...choose yours keeping in mind your individual persona  and don't blindly follow the fashion trends as fashion fades but style is always in.

You can carry a formal bag with a casual day out with friends/shopping/brunch but never do the mistake of carrying a casual bag such a jhola/tote for an evening party...clutches are always a safe bet for evenings.

Always carry your lipstick, compact, body&hand lotions in seperate  plastic pouches/makeup case to avoid any stains on your handbag.

Jhola bags/bright cotton bags tend to leak colour sometime and can make a stain in your clothes...it happened  with me once ....avoid them in rains.

Bags should be decluttered from time to time as we tend to keep stuff and forget later which can make it dirty from inside.

To keep your bag well organised always keep Switcher bags(small bag made of cotton cloth)which will help you avoid unnecessary waste of time while transferring stuffs from one bag to another. You can keep all your important stuff which you need at anypoint of time once you leave home like keys, mobile, wallet etc....Switchers are also very useful for new moms who need to carry daipers and Wipes all the time ...like me :-)

Wrap your bag in cotton clothes/old duppattas ,put your clutches in saree bags made of mul cloth, fill in paper if a bag is used only ocassionally to retain its shape.

Your Bag Vocab:

Tote Bags:  A tote bag A tote bag is large/small ,generally open bag with a handle centered atop each side. The term tote, meaning "to carry",  Generally a tote is used to hold diverse objects varying  from a day-to-day: portable umbrellas, books, towels, stadium/picnic blankets, and other recreational gear; perhaps beverages, finger foods, spare clothes, makeup/dopp kits, and child-care items -- all piled atop a set of keys, a cell phone, perhaps a wallet or change purse to hold pocket money....I personally love tote bags for the sheer versatality and utility purpose...u can just practcally throw every item of your closet for a long day meetings, college, shopping,a cuppa coffee with a long lost friend.....Do you love tote?

Clutch purse is a great way to acceceroize your evening wear, it tends to look good with any outfit, you can dress it up, you can dress it down. Clutch purses come in every shape imaginable. They come in little square boxes, triangles or heart shaped, covered with satin, beads or brocade. They are fastened with tassels, loops, and other fanciful decorations. As for me,I consider a black patent clutch as an essential part of my evening wardrobe (lipstick, ,cell phone and a bit of cash in case of emergencies). Women who want to use a clutch purse but have a ton of stuff to lug around too is to get a small wallet clutch purse and carry it inside your big purse. Definitely a must buy for your Wardrobe.Check out your mom/grandmom's closet ....who knows u might end up finding a Vintage Clutch:-)

A sling bag/ Satchel Bag  is a type of handbag that is worn over one shoulder with a strap that winds around the chest resting the bag on the lower back.Sling bags are back in fashion and lookeffortlessly stylish when worn over a Kurta/Tee for the day time and one can literally throw away Dairy ,Pen,Books,Makeup kit...Google search engine...m kidding!!!and if you think they are just meant for a casual look .....look at the delectable ones/Trendy Retro sling bag with chains which rock evening party circles and the best part is you can even dance carrying it on shoulder.

The Indian cousin of this kind of bag is our very favourite Jhola Bags found on almost streets of all cities and goes very well with Indian outfits.

Bucket Bags:The bucket bag is just what it sounds like - - a handbag that's shaped in the form of a water bucket. These have plenty of storage room, are top zippered, and easy to use. Brands like Dooney and Bourke specialize in these bags.I love bucket bags  in Jute/Knitted one's.

Barrel bags are an elongated, stretched out style with lots of horizontal room. The style usually has long handles to hang over the shoulder.Perfect for a day travel....

Some of the Top Brands for HAndbags are :

CHANEL, PRADA, GUCCI, DKNY, DOLCE&GABBANA, FENDI, ARMANI, LOUISVUITTON , DIOR.FOSSIL, TH, BERKIN, CK, RODO, JUICY COUTURE, MARC JACOBS AND BALENCIAGA.......Have I forgotten some  names??

Paprika,Hi-Design and Baggit would also be a good option and would not put a whole in your pocket.
