Neutral Love!!

Sometimes you need to let your outfit do the talking, rather than you doing the talking for your outfit .This is how I felt about this outfit which I wore recently for a day out with friends. You’ll notice I am big into Jewellery –  but this ensemble certainly didn’t need any chunky jewellery but something edgy with a understated look ! Thought My new Elephant tooth neckplace would look awesome with this outfit. Don't worry, PETA members, it's not a real elephant tooth. (Ever tried dentistry on a seven-ton mammal?).Instantly fell in love with this neutral shirt with stars and this combination of Red and Neutral  really helps to feminize the look.

Let's talk about  ways to brighten up a classic button up shirt.

  • Always imagine your button-up shirt as a blank canvas for statement jewelry.
  • Layer strings of chunky beads/multiple chains around the outside of your collar or pop up your collar and Wear a short necklace with a large, girly pendant inside the collar near the neckline for chic look
  • Try to button your sleeves and wear bright bangles around your wrist over your shirt.
  • To Take the focus away from your shirt with a pair of quirky earrings or a large brooch.
  • Wear jewelry in bright, bold colors for a vibrant look or accessorize with fake flowers for feminine appeal.
  • Wear Color-blocked bibs for a  fun look and to instantly add a pop of colour to any outfit.
  • Try to accecorize with two statement necklaces of varying lenghts
  • Team button-up collars with a bow tie /Tuxedo jacket for a androgynous look
  • Pair buttoned up shirts with chunky knits for a rockabilly look.
  • Collars adorned with sequins/glitter or PeterPan collars are always appealing to the eyes.
  • Wearing a denim/white shirt buttoned up collar and sparkly necklace combo helps dressing down the glitz of a statement neckpeice without over-powering the rest of your look

I personally love these minimalist statement necklaces and I wear them with abandon. Forgetting trends for a minute, there is something a little edgy meets sexy about them. All the buttoned-up shirts and collars convey a naughty/nice suggestiveness. What do you say...yes I am asking you??

Animal Instinct!!

Colored jeans are by themselves a statement, but matching them with an Animal Print, gives them a chic, but effortless look The trick is to wear it with bottoms that are not printed and are in a Solid color, if not in denim.A peice of Animal print clothing might seem difficult to incorporate but a color pallette of black and a bold, bright color such as a sexy pink or electric Blue works wonder when paired together!

The brown & Gold leather handbag my mother gave me is a darling, it added sophistication to the outfit. If you could see the sleeves are a bit puffy which made me instantly fall in love with this Blouse.

I just love how Blue looks with animal print! Maybe I just love the idea of mixing 2 things that wouldn't seem normal to put together.

Choose colors that will let the prints pop and accessorize Animal Prints with golds and silvers.

Although,I love wearing Ankle Boots with this outfit, but for a day as bright and Sunny, this Brown heels with Animal print strap on the top seems just perfect!

So tell me fashionistas, how do you wear bright colored jeans?Would you style it with an animal print scarf/top/jacket/handbag?

Green is the New Black!

I've searched for green jeans all summer and recently snagged a pair at Flea market of Sarojini Nagar in Delhi.Definitely a very comfortable pair of jeans to own, they already have a broken in feel to them, as if they were already yours for a few months. When I was wearing them, I didn't feel like I was being squeezed into them and they fit pretty true to size.Winter is here and nothing says Winter like a Bright Pair of Couloured Denims.

As I mentioned before, I was really excited to put together an outfit to go with a pair of green jeans. So I had a few outfits in mind already. This Striped Blazer was gifted by my brother on Rakhi. and its waiting in my closet since then for an outfit post..see how lazy I am? This Blazer is perfect for the Winters because it is lightweight but still provides warmth, and I loved the variegeated stripes on collar and Cuffs. The Bright floral tank top which was worn more than required in the summers found a great new match with the stripes cardigan and the coloured denims too.Although the tank top and the denims itself makes a wonderful outfit but by now you might now my love for layering  has its place in every outfit post and the evenings in delhi also needs a little warmth. As for shoes, I can't stop wearing my black wedges, and it just so happens that they go great with this outfit. The Green Handbag is a pick from Colaba in Mumbai.Flea Markets are always a must visit in every city to taste the local food, meet the locals and shop at affordable prices.Pink studs and Flower brooch complete the look.

Four years and Counting!!

Six years ago I met a wonderful man and two years later we got married, the missing piece of my life jigsaw was completed then. Although it seems that we've know each other since ages, this little number 6 is amazing to me and yet, tricky. Was it really 6 years ago that we both meet on a train, I had no reservation and he was sleeping comfortably with his friends, hardly talked for a few seconds, later on passed a few text messages on formal occasions and got ready unwillingly for a dinner date, and a few more meetings, movies, lunch, long drives and fall madly in love with each other in not more than 20 days? Was that really six years ago??

We made a deal to travel the world, live each moment, walk by the beach, buy our first home together….We had no idea what was in store for us, the joys and the fun and the heartaches and the adventures, but we knew we wanted to do it together.we might not have had all the adventures we planned and our journey didn’t necessarily involve the Seven Wonders of the World,But along the path we’ve learned that there are still lessons to be learned from wrangling a toddler and teaching him to be a big boy, from perfecting a diaper change in the midnight, from starting our own business and figuring out how to create a separation between work and home, and even in the art of creating a simple home cooked meal. These are our adventures now.

Speaking of time together - this marks the fourth year of being marrried and third year of being proud parents of RV. Time flies by so fast. We've definitely hit the comfort zone. Have our little routine in order. I'm greeted each evening with a smiling faced husband at the door...exchange some talks about how was the day…then he plays with Rannveer and I am off to make dinner... to eat dinner... n then its time for the late night movie, a remote in his hand, control in mine. I love that we're so comfy with each other. I often feel like being blessed during evenings like these, knowing that we will have this peaceful comfy connection always, that we found each other and can enjoy each other along with our favorite things.

There's more to write about our relationship before and after Rannveer's birth and the boost in my confidence levels after having my better half in in my life................will post later.

Let's talk about  ways to brighten up a classic button up shirt.

  • Always imagine your button-up shirt as a blank canvas for statement jewelry.

Outfit of the day:
