Surviving the schoolyard: A guide to the best school shoes

The Mommy chronicles:Meet our Sponsors for the Month of May!

As a new parent whose child is soon starting primary school for the first time, I am thrilled that my first born child is going to make this milestone and want to buy the best shoe for him. As a parent it is a turning point in my life, a new chapter with new experiences to be made. I didn't see it as a hurdle; it was just another beginning as soon as I discovered Kickers school shoes.

Surviving the schoolyard: A guide to the best school shoes

What is it that kids do at school that means they go through so many pairs of school shoes? It must be something heavy-duty because no mater how many pairs you buy them, they seem to wear them out very quickly. That is, of course, if they haven’t out grown them first!

It’s because they go through so many pairs that it’s so tempting to buy cheap school shoes. When you can get them from the supermarket for under £10, you think you’re getting a good deal. But in reality, this is what’s known as a false economy. These mass-produced shoes might be cheap but they are also of a poor quality and with the beating they’re going to get from your little terrors, they definitely won’t last long. That means that before you know it, you’re back off to the supermarket to buy a new pair.

What can you do?

There is a way to break this cycle. It involves buying shoes of better quality. You need shoes that won’t fall apart at the first sign of a bit of playground football or lunchtime high jinks. Footwear designs that bear the hallmark of quality, like Kickers school shoes, will outlast any cheap supermarket shoes by months. When your kids grow out of them they’ll still be going strong – very handy if there are any little brothers and sisters coming up behind them.

Playground politics

The other benefit of Kickers is that they have a little bit of credibility when it comes to fashion. We all know that in a perfect world this wouldn’t be important but the fact is that it does matter. The playground can be a tough place, where even something as small as having the wrong shoes can make you a target. But Kickers have been a schoolyard favourite for decades now, and so they are pretty safe territory. Sending your kids off to school knowing they have got everything they need to stand up for themselves and get on is good to know. It’s also a relief to know that they feel comfortable and confident in their uniform. School is a tough environment, in many senses of the word, so it’s important that you give your kids the right equipment to get through the day.

What's your story about your kids and their school shoes?Have you ever bought Kickers shoes for your Kids?Do share I would love to know?

And She Found Fashion Blogs!

.
Once upon a time there was a little girl who loved to play dress up games with her sister, always wore umbrella dresses and ballet shoes and loved fashion very much. It was through fashion and style she liked to express herself.

When this little girl grew into a young lady, she continued to imagine her worlds and attempted to express them. She experimented with many mediums throughout her education and enjoyed and loves them all. When her scary final year was approaching, the lovely question, "What are you going to do with your life"? Came up every day!! She entered the corporate world and loved her job and life continued with its ups and downs.

One Fine Day this young lady got married to a man of her dreams and soon became a momma, All of a sudden, there was a little soul on her lap who needed undiverted attention all the time and her priorities shifted. Sooner her Life was like driving in the express lane. This enabled her to live in fast forward and stretched her so thin that she completed all tasks, but didn’t enjoy them. She had forgotten that pleasure births passion. And passion is what Life wants from all of us.  Not more, not numbers, not programs or perfection, but Passion. No doubt, her Son has been a bundle of joy and has brought a different perspective to her life. And she always wanted him to be Passionate about Life, Love and about all issues that are close to his heart. But as Lloyd John Ogilvie said, “It can’t happen through you, if it hasn’t happened to you.” So, she still continued to experiment with hope that one day she would find something that speaks to her from heart. And she did!

She found Fashion Blogs!

With Blogs she knew she can use all of the wonderful mediums that she loves in one big medium, from fashion to beauty, to telling stories to loving glitter, to pairing high and low priced items together in order to achieve affordable perfection. It’s all there.

With her discovery she started sharing her online dairy, “Fashion Quotient”, to chronicle her fashion choices and demonstrate a unique perspective on style .Her amazing, incredible, fiery, talented hubby has been there not only to encourage her, but want to help her! To her amazement, she made a lot of friends on the way, who constantly inspire and bring her ultimate bliss by reading and appreciating her work. Once she secretly wished from the Blogging fairies (Imaginative character in her virtual world) that don’t get her run out of words for at least six months. But to her amazement, it’s been one year…more than 100 posts and she is still blogging

Although, she has constantly driven her husband (and probably 80% of the people in her life) nuts with blog ideas and photo opportunities. For this small town girl, it has been an amazing journey and she has definitely come a long way from where she started.

She says blogging has made her a happier and more confident person. She has met tons of new friends – in-person and exclusively online, made connections with amazing companies, joined fabulous communities, learned from fellow bloggers and Readers.

Like all happy stories, she wants to thank you all for reading along with her, on this journey- from her first post all the way up until now...when she steps back and takes a look at her blogging journey, she is reminded again of how thankful she is for all of your thoughtful comments, emails and tweets.
She appreciates each and every one of you!
And asks one simple question from each one of you.How long you have been with her in this journey....from the Start?5 months?1 month?5 days or 5 mins?and what are your veiws about a peice of her heart,Fashion Quotient?

Floral and Polka Party!!

I’m a huge fan of floral prints and Polka dots, so mixing floral and polka seemed like the best way to create a cute yet fun summer outfit. The floral print dress is from Ginger(Lifestyle),which I bought some random years back and have worn with Jeggings,Leggings,as a top with denims and so on and this cute aqua coloured polka dots shirt(also from Ginger) was once a my favourite option for friday casuals at office.I loved the way both colours gel together and create a summery vibe.

I added a pop of my tangerine strapped wedges for comfort and height but kept the rest of the outfit fairly monochrome with shades of blue, aqua and silver accessories. It’s all about balance, after all .This outfit is for InFB Remix: Florals ...m excited to check out all fellow bloggers enteries, blogging is so much fun !!
What is your favourite print?Have you tried mixing prints lately?Would you like to see more of print-mixing?

Few Minutes of Sunshine!!

Happy May pretty people, hope you're having a good time and taking a Summer break like I am.Today I woke up to sunshine (which happens only like twice per month.. Ok I might have slightly over-exaggerated a little),the weather was wonderful and so I thought of going out for a window shopping with my son and as we dressed up, it suddenly started raining...Its being really shifty and indecesive lately!!

Make up your mind, rain or be sunny, stop flipping between two extremes every ten minutes.

How I wish I was exaggerating!!!
